NILE LYNN MORRIS   Nile Lynn Morris of Blanco, Texas passed away on January 23, 2010 after a lengthy illness.  Nile was born July 30, 1932 in Orange County, California .  He was a resident of Holtville for 18 years and graduated from Holtville High School .  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo in California and was a member of the University football and rodeo teams.  Nile served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.   Nile was a member of the Imperial County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse and a proud member of the NRA.  He was a life long rancher and a member of the Independent Cattleman’s Association.   Nile is survived by his wife, Margaret Morris; his son, Dolin Morris and wife, Becky; and his daughter, Nina Finley and husband, David.  He is also survived by four step-daughters, Diane Billo and husband, Jim, Brenda Thompson and husband, Carl, Missy Castleberry and husband, Steven, and Marilyn Holle and husband, David.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Hafer and his father Beauford Morris.   Pallbearers for the service are Jordan Thompson, Josh Billo, Trent Holle, Gunner Holle, Buddy Guinn, and Lynn Maly.  Honorary Pallbearers are Clarence Little, Slade Holle, Joe Sawyer, Alton Immel, Lyndon Immel, Rene Gonzales, Braxton Guinn, and Skip Parker.   A visitation will be held Monday, January 25th from 5 – 7 PM at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 26th at 2:00 PM at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco.  Burial will be at the Blanco Cemetery immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
