Jack Crossley Cobb, 83, and Pearl Louise Cobb, 82, passed
away together from a vehicle accident Monday, January 18, 2010. Jack was born in San Antonio, TX to Griffin
W. Cobb and Alice Crossley Cobb. He
received his Master’s in Education from Trinity University, taught for over 35
years and retired in 1987 from Midland I.S.D.
Pearl was born in Hattiesburg, MS to Samuel E. Waddell and Ruth
Gilliland Waddell. She received her
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Angelo State University, was an RN
& PHRN for over 40 years and retired in 1992 from Texas State Health Dept.
as a Program Manager for the West Texas Region.
Jack and Pearl are survived by three children, Michael J.
Smith and wife Barbara of Houston, Carolyn L. Mitchell-Baty and husband Mark of
Dallas, and Calvin G. Cobb of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Ashley Gerdes,
Lauren Smith, and Chris Mitchell; great grandchildren, Amanda, Liam, and
Garrett. Pearl is also survived by her
brother, Raymond Waddell of The Woodlands, TX.
Both Jack and Pearl are survived by many other loving relatives and
friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, January 22,
2010 at Crofts Funeral Home, 305 E. Elm St., Johnson City, where funeral
services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 23, 2010 with Rev. Don
Forrester officiating. Graveside
services will be held at Mission Park South Cemetery, 1700 Southeast Military
Dr., San Antonio. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Jack and Pearl Cobb to
Henly Baptist Church, 200 Henly Loop, Henly, TX 78620
